Jason Bing 
Jason Bing is a Project Manager for Energy Works Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is a LEED accredited professional and a certified HERS (Home Energy Rating System) rater. Jason has conducted and supervised residential energy audits, commercial investment grade energy audits, and was trained to perform solar feasibility analyses by staff at Sandia National Laboratory. Jason is a member of the Ann Arbor Energy Commission and serves on the board of the directors of the Appropriate Technology Collaborative, an international nonprofit based in Ann Arbor. Jason is a frequent lecturer and educator, and is consistently involved in researching energy issues and technologies on a local, regional, and national scale. He earned a Masters of Architecture, BS and BAS from Kent State University and in 2003 was a finalist in the USGBC's first annual Emerging Green Builder's Design Competition.
Dan Jacobs, AIA, LEED AP
Dan Jacobs is the Senior Principal and Director of Sustainable Design at A3C Collaborative Architecture. His role as a designer and an advocate of sustainable design dates back over 30 years. His early projects included passive/active solar design, earth tempering design and super insulation. Today, he continues to remain at the forefront of technology and is sought after for his design experience in geo-exchange systems, green roofs and solar energy systems. He currently is the Treasurer for the Board of the Detroit Regional Chapter of the USGBC and is the Chair of their Green School Advocacy Committee. He is Vice President of the Southeast Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and is Past Co-Chair of AIA-MI's Committee on the Environment (COTE). Dan is a member of the American Institute ofo Architects and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is certified through the Green Building Certification Institute's (GBCI) to perform LEED Application Reviews and is a Technical Energy Audit provider through the State of Michigan's RE-BUILD Michigan Energy Assistance Program, Consumers Energy Company's Renewable Energy and Energy Optimization Plans and the City of Ann Arbor's Downtown Development Authority's Downtown Energy Savings Grant Program and is a Certification Professional with the Green Restaurant Association.
Michael Klement
Michael Klement heads Architectural Resource, LLC, a full-service, award winning, Ann Arbor based architectural design firm with satellite offices on the east and west coast. Architectural Resource specializes exclusively in residential design of new homes, cottages, additions, remodels, and renovations with an emphasis on green and sustainable design. Since the firm's inception in 1991, creating healthy and energy efficient buildings has been a fundamental aspect of its core mission. Michael is also a member of the American Institute of Architects, The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, The American Institute of Building Design, is a Certified Professional Building Designers through the National Council of Building Designers, and holds Certified Aging in Place Specialist and Certified Green Professional designations through the NAHB. Michael's association with green/sustainable building organizations includes the Energy and Environmental Building Association (EEBA); the NAHB Residential Engineers and Architects Council on Housing; the MAHB Green Built Michigan program; the Green Built Michigan Technical Advisory Board; the Green Built Michigan Remodeling Standards Committee; charter member of the WCHBA Green Built Initiative; charter member and chair of the NARI of SE Michigan Green Remodeling Committee; Remodel Green Midwest Seminar and Conference Steering Committee; the U.S. Green Building Council, and educator for the west coast's Earth Advantage Institute.
Larry Maciag
Larry Maciag is the Lead Designer for Meadowlark Builders, a full service, design/build construction firm located in Ann Arbor, MI. Larry brings 30 years of design experience to his work and blends a background in high-end woodcraft and furniture-making with design work for residential homes, restaurants, and commercial interiors. Larry is a self-taught CAD expert with a strong engineering background, and has designed and built thermal and mechanical testing systems. Larry designed Ann Arbor's first LEED Platinum and LEED Gold residences, and combines deep technical knowledge together with strong aesthetic sensibilities to create beautiful homes that are among the most efficient in the world.
Doug Selby (CEO), BS (Chemistry), CGP, CAPS
Doug Selby is a building science expert and managing partner in Meadowlark Builders, a
full service, “deep green” design/build construction firm located in Ann Arbor, MI. Meadowlark is a national leader in high-performance new homes and renovations of existing homes. Doug has guided Meadowlark through rapid growth, quadrupling sales volume from 2006 through 2010 during the worst downturn in the construction industry in 70 years. Through vertical integration of high-performance building processes including computer-aided design and modeling, advanced building envelope techniques, HVAC, plumbing and custom finish work, Meadowlark has developed a strong niche in a rapidly growing market, green construction. Doug is also the CEO of a new startup venture, Meadowlark Energy, specializing in diagnosing and fixing the existing building stock in the upper Midwest.
Claudette Jocelyn Stern

Claudette is very excited by the current design and building practices. Having brought her 1953 split level home of 24 years into the twenty first century with a remodel that is now L.E.E.D Platinum Certified. She is the co-founder of The Idea Factory, an incubator and facilitator for a multitude of creative and business pursuits. It is a collaborative made up of those with the imagination and energy to bring sparks of inspiration into being. She is also co-founder of Infinite Possibilities, a small press. In all, she is a writer, artist, filmmaker (Bilal's Stand was screened at this year's Sundance Film Festival)- in essence a producer and facilitator creating communities with the energy to reveal the impulse beneath "the idea" and support its materialization.
